Meeting Mariana

After being good friends through this blog for a long time now, I finally managed to meet one of the blog's most loyal fans. Marianna and her husband visited England and Jane Austen's homeland last week and I was fortunate enough to meet up with them at the airport before their return home.

It nearly didnt happen (sorry guys!) but I am so glad that it did, even if it was far too short. Both Marianna and her husband are such wonderful people and I am so happy that I had the time I did to chat with them. I was furnished with gifts from Canada and embraced with such care and warmth.

Mariana, your passion for Jane is uplifting and exciting. I really do hope that you can come here again and we can explore more of Jane's life together. Icha, Linda, Michelle and our other loyal friends, you are most welcome too. I have faith that one day it will happen and I am already excited.

Oooh, such lovely, lovely Ladies you both are!!

I am so happy you were able to meet up. I wish I had been there too. Maybe one day. I must say that Marianna has been on my mind lately because I finally got around to organizing my papers. I have a topic of interest to both of us I wish to discuss and I hope to dash off an email soon to her. I only have 2 more days of summer vacation, so I will try real hard to get it done for you, Marianna. So good to "see" you both.

I've said it per email, and I'll say it again. What a beautiful picture you two took in England! Yes, it's not in Chawton, but who cares? The most important thing is that both of you finally met each other!

And Rachel, next time, it's my turn to go to UK to visit you! And we'll drag Linda along, even if we have to 'force' her a bit. Hahaha!

Ha! Indeed! Believe me, it won't take much dragging or forcing to get me there. I guess I should start saving up now. Sigh.

Yrs aff'ly,

Like I have enough funding now, Linda?

But fear not. Where there is a will, there is a way! We shall meet in England in the near future. (In Colin Firth's Darcy tone) We shall!

Please just save money for flights and then come to stay with me. You know how much I would love to have you both here. We can do this. Bath and Chawton, here we come!
